Today I decided to get out of the house, I mean ur….umm… office. My daughter doesn’t have school on Tuedays and Thurdays and lately has spent more time being neglected by me because I have been breathing new life into my online boutique. So I decided to incorporate business with pleasure by paying a visit to one of the showrooms in South Orange County that represents quite a few of the lines that I carry. It was a way to get her out of the house and give me a chance to familiarize myself with some new merchandise.

I cleaned up myself (which is rare) and packed the kids, I mean ur…..ummm…. my assistants, for a little road trip. It was such a nice ride. The sun was shining bright and the temperature was a mild 77 degrees. I’m so spoiled by the southern California weather and can’t imagine living anywhere else. It’s nothing like the wind kissing your face and good music blasting. As soon as the wind hits, my baby boy throws his hands in the air and gets this big Kool-Aid smile that’s so infectious. I wish I could bottle it up.
The showroom actually served a dual purpose as a children’s boutique as well as a showroom. The owner manufactures her own line of products and represents a dozen other clients. If you have a product that you’re selling, invest in a photographer who can enhance the look of your merchandise. It was nice to see some of the products I was considering up close and personal. The photography online did them no justice.
After business was done, I took Mini Me over to lunch at the Golden Arches where they had a little playground. Yes, Germy Germ City. We made sure to scrub hands and Purell down when it was all said and done. I shared my fries with Bam Bam while Mini Me ventured through the jungle gym thingy. A few playmates came and went as we spent at least an hour hanging out in the play area.

All-in-all it was a nice little outing. I have to learn how to mix more business with pleasure so my little ‘assistant’ knows how special she is to mommy. When I was working full time I use to day dream about being able to stay home and spend more time with my babies. Can’t lose sight of the priceless moments.
