Fave Five Friday - Famous Couples

This weeks Fave Five are my five favorite famous couples. I've set them apart in categories. Sort of.

5. Hip Hop/R&B

Sean "Jay Z" Carter & Beyonce Knowles

They're cute. They're hip. They're haute. They're not showy. They don't seek out the papparazzi. They just handle their business building their individual empires and holding on to the #1 spot on the music charts. They work hard. They play hard. Originally, they appeared to be an odd couple that made you scratch your head but now they just seem to click.

4. Country

Tim McGraw & Faith Hill

Two beautiful people who made three beautiful babies. You never know if a celebrity couple marry each other for PR or if they're the real deal. They seem to truly love each other. Tim has a budding acting career on top of his singing career (I'm actually about to go say his latest flick "The Blindside"). You can catch Faith every Sunday before the kickoff of the Sunday Night Football game.

3. Rock

Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale

Haute! Haute! Haute! I adore this couple. She's total sweet rocker chick who you just want to hang out with. Gavin is the gorgeous, cool, eclectic husband who can quit his day job to model. They rock their kids in hip, edgy apparel and keep the music playing on and on and on.

2. Hollywood

Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith

Where do I begin? Let's talk about balance. He is the yin to her yang. They compliment each other so well. Supportive, expressive with their love, great role models, and dedicated parents. They decided years ago never to work in the same year. If this is Jada's year to to do a film, Will focuses on the day-to-day tasks on the home front and vice versa. They have also been a wonderful example for blended families showing that you can be inclusive with your ex-spouse and maintain harmony.

1. All Around

Barack & Michelle Obama

No brainer. No explanation needed as to why this is my favorite couple but I'll give a couple of reasons for good measure. They not only ooze a feeling of love but also a sense of respect as well. This is the blueprint for marriage. Gentlemen, this is how a woman is suppose to be treated. Ladies, this is how you lift up your man. They seem to be able to maintain a back-to-basics attitude all while running a country. And the thing I love most is that they let you know - marriage is not a fairytale. Marriage takes work in order for it to be successful. The Obamas show their commitment to each other and their family.

*Honorable Mention

Hazel & Roger Williams

They may not be famous to you but they are celebrities to me. These are my grandparents, rest their souls. They were the most amazing pair and an absolute wonderful example for me to see. My grandfather was 'the man of the house' but we knew who really ran the show. Granddaddy knew that too. ;-)Their house was open to so many who didn't have a place to go. Since I was an only childe, they use to take me on 'special' trips with them that I couldn't tell my cousins. I was like the chosen one. Or so I thought. Later in life I learned that they did that for everybody. But that was their magical way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world. I treasure the memories they created and am proud to be their 'grand'.
