I must confess, I don’t do much of the stumbling but my significant other does. He sends me great articles that are relevant to the things going on with me and my business. With so many social networks, I had to scale back and this was one of them. But thanks to him, I still get my fill because he does the stumbling for me. Stumbleupon is great for like minded people who would like to share information.

4. www.twittermoms.com
Twitter moms is for moms who twitter! Who knew there were so many mothers out there becoming entreprenuers? Although Twitter is for everyone, not just business owners, business owners have found it to be a great tool for networking and marketing. Twitter moms, being a spin-off to Twitter, is comprised of quite a few mothers who are cooking, cleaning, diaper changing, and building empires all at the same time. Hooray for mom!

3. www.skoutfairtrade.ning.com
Why do I like this site? As a WAHM with an online children’s boutique, this is a great site because it brings together other WAHM’s who have businesses within the children’s industry. This website allows you to network directly with other online store owners, designers of children’s apparel and unique goods, manufacturers, web designers, photographers, and just about anyone associated with the children’s industry. There are various groups you can join that touch on subjects specific to the industry. This network was started by a mom from Australia so you will find more than half of the contacts are from down under but the networking is worldwide.

2. www.twitter.com
Mentioned just above, Twitter is ADDICTIVE. I registered with Twitter probably six or seven months before I actually started using it. Then when I started using it, it took me another two or three months to get it and understand what I was doing. If you want to get to know a lot of people in a little bit of time, join Twitter. If you have a business and are on a budget when it comes to marketing and pr, join Twitter. If you have no life, join Twitter. If your life is exciting then you DEFINITELY need to join Twitter. It’s big fun! Join the party.

1. www.facebook.com
Love it! Here’s another social website that took time to “get” or understand. When I was working as a recruiter, Facebook was one of our clients. Since they were our client, we were required to join the network, create a page, and get familiar with how it works. That’s only fitting. Needless to say, since I was forced to join and I didn’t know many people using the network, it didn’t get used much. Plus, I was a little embarrassed to tell my grown friends that I have a Facebook account. At that time it was mainly used among teens and college students. After about a year and a half and reading up on Web 2.0, I realized that I may be able to use Facebook to help me market my business. Since becoming more active with it, I have over 1,000 friends. I mean friend friends. People I actually know. Friends from high school. Relatives I rarely get to talk to on a regular basis. They’re all right there on Facebook. Updating photos of nieces and nephews I haven’t seen since they were in diapers. High school friends who I haven’t seen since Madonna was a virgin on a gondola. It’s been a blast reconnecting with so many people while at the same time, getting some buzz worthy attention for my business. So that’s why Facebook is my favorite social network site.
What are your favorite social network sites? I’m always looking for great networks to join.
